The success of the SMSU Volleyball summer camps and winter clinics that continue to grow each year, have directly funded three volleyball athletic scholarships a year (approximately $60,000) as well as provided significant dollars to the VB programs’ general operating budget. We are committed to helping our program grow and be successful by doing our part, but we still need your help. To help you better understand the need for your support, we wanted to show you the average cost of items that the volleyball needs to purchase each year to give you an idea of just how much things cost.
In 2015, the SMSU Volleyball program funded the SMSU Volleyball Endowment Fund through earnings from their successful summer camps and winter clinics over the past 14 years. The current total in the SMSU Volleyball Endowment Fund is over $60,000. Our goal is to get our endowment fund up to an amount where each year we can pay for one volleyball athletic scholarship with the interest earned from our endowment. Please see below for more information on this campaign and how to contribute! Thank you for your support of SMSU volleyball!
To help you better understand the need for your support, here are a few financial challenges we face each year as a program. Cost of attending SMSU = $20,000 // Cost of attending NSIC tournament for volleyball (not covered by budget) = $5,100 // Busing and Hotels (regular season) = $20,000 // Net system (2 polls and 1 net) = $3,485 // Practice Balls for 1 year = $1,000 // Practice gear and Travel gear per year = $12,000
